Live Shrimp - catches everything inshore
Wow, we have had lots of fun fishing with live shrimp this year. My
springbreakers and summer vacationing kids have had a tremendous amount
of action, fishing with live shrimp.
Snook, reds, and trout top the list of a huge variety of inshore
species. Other catches on shrimp include : flounder, baby gags, manrove
snapper, pompano, sheepshead, mackeral, black drum, jack crevalle,
bonnethead sharks, baby blacktips, rays, skates, puffers, whiting,
ladyfish and more.
So if the kids want to go fishing, pick up some shrimp and pitch 'em up
under a dock or two. You're sure to boat something and maybe even
dinner. Now, doesn't that sound like fun?
Shrimp, plus assorted baitfish
What a great year for snookin! High gas prices and new snook regulations I believe have been the contributing factors.
Clients have been catching many nice snook around docks after dark over
the last few weeks. Recent afternoon rain storms have been pushing
charters into the night, but that's ok by me.
36-inch Snook
With extreme heat during the day, I believe the fish
have been feeding more after dark for the most part. Snook are
nocturnal and seem to just be more active at night. Clients are still
catching a mixed bag of fish along with the snook.
30-inch Snook
Most nights are bringing trout at the very end outgoing tide as well as
ladyfish, redfish and mangrove snapper. Most snook are ranging from 25
to 36 inches and are putting up great fights. Shrimp, shiners and
pinfish seem to be doing the trick.
With extreme water clarity most fish are being caught on 25lb
flourocarbon leader, so we can get them to bite. Twenty five pound
leader has also caused us to loose a few monsters also, but that's ok!
If you're interested in some night snookin' give us a call.
