Florida
Hotels....
Reviews of the Best Hotels
for Fishing Vacations
Great
Florida hotels can be hard to find. Are you still looking for just the
right hotel for your Florida fishing vacations?
Stick
around, and spend a little time reading our reviews of Florida hotels,
presented by fishing trip destination....if you're in a hurry, go
further down the page to get to the listing of cities covered.
You
won't
have too spend too much time here, though - We've
already done the homework for you!
If
you're like us, you would rather not spend your time looking for a good
hotel when you hit town. We've learned, over the years, that
it just isn't worth the aggravation of traveling from one promising
hotel to another, only to be turned away (sorry, no rooms left!), or
worse, find out that the hotel that held such promise on the outside....
....wasn't
up to our standards on the inside.
And
we're
not that
hard
to please!
Perhaps
you're not all that
hard to please about accommodations, either.
Perhaps,
something like this fishing
shack works just fine for you...
After
all, you're traveling to Florida to fish, right?
Right?
Thought
so! After all,
fishing is a messy business. But that doesn't mean
your accommodations or the service has to be messy! Not that
there's anything wrong with camping out on your fishing vacations; in
fact, we prefer camping over staying in hotels.
Most
of the time. But sometimes a little more pampering is in
order!
Others in your group might be a little
more....refined. In our family, that means two daughters and
Mom, who are put out a bit by "icky rooms", to borrow a
phrase
from our girls...
When we aren't camping, Florida
hotels like this one, pictured below, are more our style.
Dad gets to fish
away, without having to endure the girls (or Mom!) expressing their
unhappiness with the lodging. And men, if Mom (or any
significant other) is unhappy....well, you know the rest of that
saying!
Now,
for
those that are a bit more selective on where you
prefer to stay (and you know who you are!), our Florida Hotels review
pages will, we believe, get you well on your way to making an educated
decision on which hotel is perfect for you and your fishing buddies.
And
especially perfect for those of you with little fishing
"buddies" ... your
family!
We're not travel agents; we're just ordinary
folks who love fishing vacations to Florida. We haven't
stayed in all the hotels presented in our review pages.
What
we have
done, is spend hours doing the research online, learning about, and
reviewing the hotels in
Florida. We've
read other travelers' experiences and their opinions
about
the good, not so good, and the don't-even-think-about-going-there
hotels in different Florida travel destinations.
We've
selected what we believe to be the
best Florida hotels for those
planning fishing vacations. Each page listed below in our
hotels review section is presented by location.
Florida
Hotels by Destination:
Apalachicola
Where the river by the same name meets the Gulf, in Florida's
northwest region.
Clearwater
Home of the famed Pier 60. Great surf fishing, and an excellent home
base for deep sea fishing charters.
Destin
One of the hottest sport fishing destinations. Many top
Florida charter fishing boats call Destin their home port.
Green
Cove Springs
A great
weekend fishing
trip from the Jacksonville or St Augustine areas. Located on
the St John's river, it's a nice place to relax and go bass fishing.
Islamorada
Laid
back and casual, don't go to Islamorada unless you plan to fish.
Jacksonville
Home
to great urban fishing programs. Fresh water and salt water
fishing are both available from this great fishing location.
Jacksonville
Beach
Try surf fishing on the
beach, or from an outstanding fishing pier.
Key
Largo
The beginning of the crown
jewel of Florida fishing - the Keys! Try some backcountry or flats
fishing in Florida Bay.
Key
West
A
great way to go deep sea fishing without leaving land! Key
West is located about 200 miles out from the Florida mainland; fish the
waters of the Atlantic or the Gulf from here.
Marathon
Another island in the
Keys. A popular destination for tarpon fishing.
Panama
City
Best
of both fresh water and deep sea fishing is found here, in the
panhandle region of northwest Florida.

Beaches,
beaches, and more beaches!

everyone in your fishing party.
